Visiting the Dutch Silver Museum: a fun and interactive way to spend your day. As a visitor you see, feel, smell and hear silver. Discover even more about this versatile material in the world of silver.
The collection is presented in different themes, like ‘this is me’ and ‘eternal fame’. One of the museum’s highlights is the interactive interactive Silver Table. It is filled with interesting stories and exciting tasks, all relating to the world of silver.
Learn extraordinary trade secrets from smiths and create something yourself in the Silver Forge.
The museum has a restaurant area and is completely accessible to wheelchairs.
Mission and vision
Dutch Silver Museum Schoonhoven
The foundation aims to acquire, cultivate, research and present the art of silver- and gold smithery. This also includes specific tools, drawings, designs, documentation and other things related to silver and smithery. We aim to not only educate, but also excite and interest the audience in the world of silver.
The Dutch Silver Museum chose to fulfill another position: we seek to preserve the trade of traditional silver smith of gold smith by stimulating and facilitating potential smiths.

At the Dutch Silver Museum we aim to:

Based on this mission, the vision of the Dutch Silver Museum is as followed:
The Dutch Silver Museum shows the diversity and versatility of silver throughout history. We seek to store, display and pass on valuable knowledge about silver.
Diversity and inclusion
Musea bekennen kleur
In 2021/2022 the Dutch Silver Museum takes part in the diversity program ‘Musea bekennen kleur’. The goal of this program is to promote inclusion and diversity within an organization. This is achieved by analyzing and targeting the programming of the museum, the public, personnel and partners. By working together as museums we hope to contribute to a more inclusive world.

Collective Labour Agreement
Reward policy
The foundation Dutch Silver Museum follows the guidelines from the labour agreement for all employers within Health. According to the articles of association, the members of the supervisory board do not receive any form of payment for their work.
The Dutch Silver Museum is a licensed training company.

Cultural ANBI-status:
The foundation Dutch Silver Museum is an institution with cultural ANBI-status, as appointed by the Dutch Tax Administration. This means your gift to the museum is tax deductable.
